Raleigh, Garner and NPR

The annual Tour d’Coop will take place tomorrow. It is a great opportunity to see how people can responsibly keep chickens in an urban environment. There will be 24 sites this year with different styles of coops and many varieties of chickens. Tickets can be obtained tomorrow by donating cash or a non-perishable food item. More information can be found at Hen-side the Beltline Tour d’Coop.
Garner also does not allow chickens, but a resident there has started the process to get the ordinances changed. I wish them luck and look forward to another town allowing chickens.
Today at noon on NPR’s The State of Things, they will be doing a segment about chickens in the triangle. Bob from the Tour d’Coop and Alissa from CaryChickens.com will be interviewed by Frank Stasio. If you cannot hear it live, a recording will be available shortly after.
