We give a cluck about Cary

Issue Advisory Group Presentation

August10

The presentation for our request to form an Issue Advisory Group is this Thursday, August 13th, at the Town Council meeting which starts at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at 316 N. Academy Street. We are early on the agenda (http://www.townofcary.org/agenda/agenda.htm). The presentation will hopefully start around 6:45. The staff, CIRC, and Cary chickens presentations should last 20-25 minutes, and then Town Council will debate and vote on whether or not we may form a Town-Sanctioned Issue Advisory Group.

The main thing we can do at this point to improve our chances is have lots and lots of people show up to the meeting. Bring your kids, your neighbors, etc. Tell everyone and anyone about it, and invite them to come and show support. Everyone should plan to meet before the meeting in the hallway right outside council chambers. If everyone could try and be there by 6:20, so you could be seated by 6:25, that would be ideal.

Wear a CaryChickens shirt if you have one, if not, then try and wear yellow/orange. It’d be nice if it was somewhat obvious that the whole group was together.

Also, Susan Moran has instructed us (without prompting) that no one can bring signs or live chickens to the meeting. Just in case anyone wanted to bring a pet chicken, we’ve been told no on that (without even asking).

If you have any petition signatures that you’ve collected and haven’t given to Alissa yet, please scan them and e-mail them, or drop them off at the house by Wednesday. Alternately, you can bring 10 copies to the meeting on Thursday so she can hand them right to council.

See you Thursday!
